When I first heard about oil pulling, I thought it was really strange until I started doing it for a few weeks and noticed that everything I read about it was true and it WORKED!
What is Oil Pulling? It’s basically taking on tablespoon of oil like unrefined sesame oil, sunflower oil or coconut oil or something similar and swishing it around in your mouth for about 20 minutes. You will start to feel it thicken and it almost feels like you are grabbing toxins from your body and they are literally being pulled into the oil. You’re supposed to spit it out in the toilet so the poisons don’t touch anything and then rinse your mouth with water after that.
After I oil pull, I feel amazing light and more clear headed. I notice that my breath is fresher and my teeth are whiter. It can be a bit of a time commitment so I suggest that you do it first thing in the morning as you’re getting ready. Perhaps as you shower because that takes up 10 minutes right there and so the time seems to go by a little faster. There’s also sometimes a gag reflex thing that can happen. If that’s the case, just go ahead and spit out in the toilet, rinse your mouth with water and continue with another tablespoon of oil in your mouth.
The other thing that could happen is that you accidentally swallow it which is kind of gross and you’ve just swallowed all those toxins but don’t worry, think about it.. those toxins were already in your body. Just rinse your mouth and start all over again. If you’re a newbie, I would suggest starting with 5 minutes and working yourself up to 20 minutes. Something is better than nothing.
Oil pulling gets rid of all the bad bacteria in your mouth and is better than going to the dentist to get a cleaning. Ancient Indian wisdom says that oil pulling cures all diseases. This may have something to do with the fact that it stimulates the liver to produce bile and consequently, detox. The only way I can prove it to you is if you try it and see for yourself. The incredible elated feeling you get afterwards is amazing. So, go ahead and try and let me know how it worked for you!
